Come visit Battenkill Stables in Arlington, Vermont.
Nestled between the Taconic Mountains to the west and the Green Mountains to the east, rests Battenkill Valley Stables; a distinct 75-acre equestrian facility that offers for investment or show, a variety of Canadian and Vermont crossbred horses. In Arlington, Vermont, overlooking the world renowned Battenkill River, we strive to find and breed young, athletic horses of sound mind for dressage, eventing, foxhunting, and jumping. The temperment of the draft horse crossed with the athleticism of the thoroughbred make marvelous horses with great brains.
Our sale horses are young varying in price, color, size and temperament; but they have experience riding through woods, fields, and water and are well accustomed to dogs, cats, cows, llamas, and canoes! Indoor ring on premises and trainer participation is strongly encouraged.
Next door to the farm is the former home of America's most beloved artists, Norman Rockwell. For over two centuries, the village of Arlington has been home to many other historic Vermont figures, such as, EthanAllen and his Green Mountain Boys, Robert Frost, and Dorothy Canfield Fisher.
If you're looking for a place to stay we'd suggest the The Hill Farm Inn (one of the oldest B&B's in Vermont).
UPDATED THE SITE WITH NEW HORSES AND NEW PICTURES ON 9/12/2010!
